American actress, model, writer and host Melanie Specht is a familiar face from the world of television and film. This multi-talented actress has appeared in movies including My American Nurse 2, Loveless in Los Angeles, Transformers: Age of Extinction and numerous short films like Cosmic Girl, Building Lines, Cherry on Top, First Weekend and Home Invasion Package. Along with her film work, she has starred in television shows including The Young and The Restless, Passions, Angels in Paradise and The Ex List.
Born in Washington, D.C., Specht grew up with her sister and parents in Fairfax, Virginia. A dancer from just four years old, she competed with her high school dance team throughout her youth at the UDA National Dance Team Championship competition, making her early television debut on ESPN. After studying for a degree in communications and spending a summer living in Paris, she began to fully pursue her life-long ambition of becoming a professional actress.
Specht got her first big break shortly after moving to LA in the television show The Young and The Restless, and also landed a role in short film Something Sweet. Since then she has rarely been out of work as an actress, and has also explored her natural gift for comedy as a member of the Straitjacket Society sketch company.
As supporter of several humanitarian causes, she is an advocate for empowering young women both in the US and abroad and also manages inspirational living website Up Thoughts.
