Garrett Epple has established himself as one of the Premier Lacrosse League’s (PLL) standout defensemen, known for his exceptional skills and tenacity on the field. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Epple attended Calvert Hall College High School, where he began to develop his prowess in lacrosse. He continued to elevate his game at the University of Notre Dame, earning accolades as a 2017 USILA First Team All-American and an All-ACC selection. His impressive collegiate performance solidified his reputation as a top-tier defender and a key player for the Fighting Irish.

In the 2019 PLL season, Epple played a crucial role in leading the Redwoods Lacrosse Club to the Championship Game. During that season, he demonstrated his defensive prowess by collecting 45 ground balls and causing 24 turnovers, showcasing his ability to disrupt opposing offenses. His contributions did not go unnoticed, as he was selected for the 2019 PLL All-Star Team and nominated for the prestigious Dave Pietramala Defensive Player of the Year Award in both 2019 and 2020, further establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with in the league.

Epple continued to shine in the 2020 season, where he registered 9 caused turnovers and picked up 17 ground balls in just five games. His impactful performances earned him a spot on the All-Tournament Team, highlighting his consistency and ability to perform in high-stakes situations. Known for his strategic play and physicality, Epple has become a key component of the Redwoods’ defensive unit, consistently making game-changing plays that help secure victories.

Outside of lacrosse, Epple enjoys a variety of hobbies, including basketball, golf, and playing video games, which speak to his competitive nature.
