Former footballer Michael Ball has played at the highest level and won major honours with some of the biggest clubs in Europe. He played as a left back and centre half for Everton, Rangers, PSV Eindhoven, Manchester City and England. He is now the Director of CCR Sports Agency.
Born and raised in Liverpool, Ball was part of the Liverpool youth system as a schoolboy, and later attended the FA’s National School at Lilleshall. He started his professional career at Everton in 1996, and made his Premier League debut aged 17 in 1997. He remained at the Merseyside club until 2001, and then he signed with Rangers for a club record £6.5 million transfer. He help the Glasgow side win the Scottish Premier League and League Cup double in 2004-05. In 2005 he was signed by the Dutch club PSV Eindhoven, helping them to secure the Eredivisie title at the end of the 2005-06 season. In 2007 he returned to England to play for Manchester City. He had a knee operation in January 2009 and was out of the game for nine months. City released him when his contract expired in July. He remained a Free agent until he signed a one-year contract with Leicester City in August 2011. He made just three appearances for the Midlands club before retiring in 2012. He went on to set up his own sports agency, CCR Sports.
