Michael Connell Biehn was born on July 31, 1956, in Anniston, Alabama. He spent his early years in Lincoln, Nebraska, before his family relocated to Lake Havasu, Arizona, at age 14. He pursued drama at the University of Arizona on scholarship before moving to Hollywood to start his acting career. His early work included a minor appearance in “Grease” (1978) and a lead role as a stalker in “The Fan” (1981), opposite Lauren Bacall. His breakthrough came in 1984 when he was cast as Kyle Reese in James Cameron’s “The Terminator.” This role marked the beginning of a notable collaboration with Cameron.

Biehn continued to work with James Cameron in other significant films. He starred as Corporal Hicks in “Aliens” (1986), a role for which he received a Saturn Award for Best Actor nomination. He then played Lt. Hiram Coffey in “The Abyss” (1989), delivering a performance that garnered strong critical reception. In the 1990s, Biehn appeared in films such as “Navy Seals” (1990), “K2” (1991), and was recognized for his portrayal of Johnny Ringo in “Tombstone” (1993). His career later diversified into television series like “The Magnificent Seven” (1998–2000), “Adventure Inc.” (2002–2003), and “Hawaii” (2004).

In more recent years, Biehn has expanded his work to include producing and directing. He directed “The Blood Bond” (2010), and both wrote, directed, and starred in “The Victim” (2011). He has also taken on roles in popular television series, appearing as Lang in “The Mandalorian” (2020) and Ian in “The Walking Dead” (2022). In 2025, he returned to the Alien/Predator franchise, voicing Vandy in the animated film “Predator: Killer of Killers.” Biehn received a Life Career Award at the Saturn Awards in 2011 for his contributions to film.
