He began his professional journey in Major League Soccer (MLS) with the MetroStars in 2004, where he quickly made a name for himself despite a challenging rookie season. By 2006, he became the youngest MLS player to be sold when he transferred to Heerenveen in the Dutch Eredivisie, where he excelled, scoring 16 goals in the 2007-08 season and breaking the record for the most goals scored by an American in a European first division.
Bradley’s career continued to flourish as he played in top leagues across Europe, including the Bundesliga with Borussia Mönchengladbach and the English Premier League with Aston Villa. His time in Italy with Chievo and Roma solidified his reputation as a versatile midfielder. At Roma, he contributed significantly, scoring key goals and earning praise for his energetic playing style. In 2014, he returned to MLS, joining Toronto FC, where he became a pivotal figure, leading the team as captain to their first MLS Cup victory in 2017 and achieving an unprecedented domestic treble.
On the international stage, Bradley was a stalwart for the United States national team, earning over 150 caps and participating in multiple major tournaments, including two FIFA World Cups and five CONCACAF Gold Cups, winning two. His leadership and performance were instrumental in the U.S. reaching the semi-finals of the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup and the Copa América Centenario.
After retiring from professional play in 2023, Bradley transitioned into coaching, reuniting with his father, Bob Bradley, at Stabæk. His extensive experience, tactical intelligence, and leadership qualities position him as a valuable asset in his new role, where he continues to influence the game he loves.
