Sarah Snook earned her first significant recognition with an AACTA Award for Best Lead Actress in a Television Drama for her compelling performance in ‘Sisters of War’ in 2011. A graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) in 2008, Snook quickly established herself in the Australian film and television landscape. Her early career also saw her as a runner-up for the prestigious 2011 Australians in Film Heath Ledger Scholarship. She continued to garner critical acclaim, securing another AACTA Award for Best Actress in a Film for her role in ‘Predestination’ in 2014, in addition to receiving accolades from the Film Critic’s Circle of Australia and the Australian Film Critics Association for other impactful performances.
Building on her screen success, Snook returned to the stage to tremendous critical acclaim, starring in ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’ in London’s West End in 2024. In this unique production, she masterfully performed all 26 parts, earning her a distinguished Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress. That same year, she lent her voice to the animated film ‘Memoir of a Snail,’ for which she received another AACTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Looking ahead, ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’ is set for a highly anticipated Broadway run in 2025, where Snook is slated to make her Broadway debut and is projected to receive a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play.
