Michael Burleigh

Michael Burleigh is a historian, author, and commentator known for his extensive writings on international relations and modern European history, bringing historical context to contemporary global affairs. After being awarded the prestigious Samuel Johnson Prize for Non-Fiction in 2001 for his acclaimed work, ‘The Third Reich: A New History’ (2000), Michael Burleigh established himself as a leading historian, author, and commentator. He earned a First Class Honours in History from University College London in 1977, followed by a PhD in history from Bedford College in 1982.
