Michael Nouri

Michael Nouri was born on December 9, 1945, in Washington, D.C. His father, Edmond Nouri, an Iraqi immigrant, was a writer for publications such as *Stars and Stripes* and *The New Yorker*. Nouri began his career in the late 1960s, quickly establishing a presence in both theater and television. He made his Broadway debut in *Forty Carats* in 1968, a production that ran for two years, and also served as an assistant stage manager for the play. This early experience laid the groundwork for a career characterized by consistent work in diverse acting roles.

His breakthrough in film came with a starring role as Nick Hurley in the 1983 romantic drama *Flashdance*.
