Ron Duguay

Ron Duguay is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and coach, recognized for his extensive National Hockey League career and his subsequent role as a broadcaster. After a distinguished junior career that saw him record 134 points for the Sudbury Wolves in the 1975–76 OMJHL season and represent the Canada junior team at the 1977 World Junior Championships, Ron Duguay was drafted 13th overall by the New York Rangers in the 1977 NHL Amateur Draft. He made an immediate impact with the Rangers, scoring 20 goals in his rookie year and establishing himself as a dynamic presence. Playing for six seasons with the team, Duguay set a New York Rangers record for the fastest goal at the start of a game, at nine seconds, on April 6, 1980.

His significant contributions to the sport were honored with the retirement of his jersey by the Sudbury Wolves, recognizing his lasting legacy.
