Milena Leticia Roucka, born on October 25, 1979, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, began her career in the public eye as a model. She holds Czech and Costa Rican descent. In 2004, she achieved international recognition as the first North American to win the “Piel Dorada,” a major Latin American modeling contest. Roucka’s early interests included kickboxing, Muay Thai, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. These martial arts disciplines provided a foundation for her eventual entry into professional wrestling. Her athletic background and modeling success contributed to her later ventures in entertainment.
Roucka entered the professional wrestling world in the summer of 2006, competing in the WWE Diva Search where she reached the final eight. Although eliminated, WWE signed her to a developmental contract the same year, marking the beginning of her career under the ring name Rosa Mendes. She quickly made her debut on WWE Raw in November 2008, initially portraying a dedicated fan of WWE Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix. This role evolved into an active association with Phoenix and Santino Marella before she transitioned into managing various tag teams and individual wrestlers across different WWE brands, including ECW and SmackDown. Her career included significant exposure on various WWE television programs and pay-per-view events. She appeared in multiple WWE games, including WWE 2K16, and was a main cast member on the E! reality series Total Divas for multiple seasons.
Throughout her WWE tenure, which spanned over a decade, Mendes managed Primo & Epico to the WWE Tag Team Championship in 2012. She also held the Queen of FCW title and the OVW Women’s Championship in developmental territories. After announcing her pregnancy in 2015, she transitioned to a WWE.com correspondent role before retiring from WWE in February 2017. Her final televised appearance with WWE was on Total Divas. In 2018, Roucka made a return to professional wrestling on the independent circuit, appearing for MCW Pro Wrestling. Beyond wrestling, she pursued Christian Ministry studies, earning a Bachelor of Science degree, and became a site director for a youth organization, demonstrating her engagement in community and personal development.
