Monica Danae Ricketts

Monica Danae Ricketts is an actor and musical theatre performer best known for her array of theatre work, particularly as lead roles in major musicals. She is also renowned for playing Disney Princesses both on stage and on screen. She has a large social media following with over 52,000 followers on her Instagram page, where she shares snippets of her daily life along with performance videos and posts about vintage fashion and princess costumes.

American-born Ricketts studied musical theatre at Western Nevada College and then went on to take a course in improv at the Groundlings in Los Angeles. Her fruitful musical theatre career has seen her play lead roles such as Ilse in Spring Awakening, Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical, Ado Annie in Oklahoma!, Penny in Hairspray, and Kate Monster in Avenue Q. She has also performed as different Disney Princesses for Disney Cruise Line, and as Marilyn Monroe at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Japan.

Ricketts has played lead roles in several films including Lilly in Presidents Day, Helen in It’s a Seussical Life, Tina in The Vampiersons, Zoe in Little Angel, and Jessica in 911. More recently, she has appeared in horror film Witnesses and thriller Shepard, and has earned acclaim for her appearance as Merida in Traci Hines’s viral YouTube video Wreck-It Ralph Princess Music Video! alongside Brian Hull.
