K. M. Mosharraf Hossain, known professionally as Mosharraf Karim, was born on August 22, 1971, in Barisal, Bangladesh. He embarked on his artistic journey in the late 1980s as a theatre artist, joining the renowned Nattokendro troupe. For 16 years, he consistently performed lead roles in various theatre productions, honing his craft and establishing a strong foundation in acting. His transition to television came in 1999 with the single-episode TV play “Atithi,” directed by Ferdous Hasan and aired on Channel I. He gained significant popularity, becoming a regular presence on television screens from February 2005. Towards the end of that year, he officially adopted the surname Karim from his father, changing his professional name from Mosharraf Hossain to Mosharraf Karim.

Karim’s career progression saw him taking on diverse roles that showcased his versatility. In 2004, he starred in the popular telefilm “Kyarom” alongside Nusrat Imroz Tisha. His film debut was in “Joyjatra” in 2004, swiftly followed by a role in “Daruchini Dwip” in 2007, directed by Tauquir Ahmed. In 2009, he appeared in “Third Person Singular Number” and also made his debut in a drama serial, “420,” aired on Channel I. Over the years, he has continued to feature in critically and commercially successful films such as “Television” (2012), “Jalal’s Story” (2014), “Oggatonama” (2016), “Komola Rocket” (2018), and his Indian film debut “Dictionary” (2021).

More recently, Mosharraf Karim has found significant acclaim in digital media. His portrayal of OC Harun in the 2021 web series “Mohanagar” garnered widespread praise, further cementing his reputation as a formidable actor capable of delivering impactful performances across various platforms. He has also ventured into playback singing, with his song “Bhalo Bhalo Lage Na” in the film “Bildakini” being both written and composed by him. Throughout his career, Karim has received numerous accolades, including multiple Meril Prothom Alo Awards and national-level honors, recognizing his substantial contributions to the Bangladeshi entertainment industry. He continues to be a prominent figure, engaging in various projects and maintaining a strong connection with his audience.
