Naomi Hartley

Naomi Hartley was born on January 12, 2001, in Burnley, England. Her football career began in the youth ranks of her hometown team, Burnley, before she moved to Blackburn Rovers. At the age of 13, Hartley joined Manchester United’s Centre of Excellence. After three years, she moved to Liverpool due to the absence of a senior women’s team at Manchester United, where she gained experience playing alongside Casey Stoney.

Hartley made her senior debut for Liverpool on February 18, 2018, in a Women’s FA Cup tie against Chichester City. In 2018, she rejoined Manchester United W.F.C. for their inaugural season in the FA Women’s Championship, where she made her debut on September 23 against London Bees. She later went on loan to Sheffield United in March 2019, securing a permanent move to the club ahead of the 2019–20 season. During her time at Sheffield United, she made her debut on August 18, 2019, in a match against Aston Villa. She has also made international appearances, captaining the England U17 side during the 2018 UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship qualification.

Hartley played for Coventry United in the 2021-2022 season before returning to Sheffield United for the 2022-2023 season. In January 2023, she joined Burnley F.C. Women. Beyond her playing career, Hartley has actively engaged with community initiatives. In 2022, she worked with the Community Foundation’s Empower LGBT+ program, reflecting her openness about being lesbian.
