Nate Diaz

Nate Diaz has established a significant presence in the combat sports world, transitioning from a prominent mixed martial artist to a professional boxer and combat sports promoter. After winning The Ultimate Fighter 5, an all-lightweight season, in 2007, Nate Diaz secured his place in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and earned a Knockout of the Night award. Prior to this pivotal moment, Diaz had made his professional MMA debut and challenged for the World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) Lightweight Championship in 2006. His early career established him as a formidable competitor within the combat sports world.

Diaz further solidified his status as a top contender, challenging for the UFC Lightweight Championship in 2012 against Benson Henderson at UFC on Fox 5. Diaz continued to achieve significant milestones, including a TKO victory over Gray Maynard in 2013 at The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale and a unanimous decision win against Michael Johnson in 2015 at UFC on Fox 17, which famously led to his high-profile call-out of Conor McGregor. Their two fights in 2016 garnered immense public attention; Diaz secured a submission win in their first encounter at UFC 196, and their rematch at UFC 202 earned Fight of the Night honors for both competitors. In 2022, Diaz departed the UFC as a free agent, following a Performance of the Night submission victory over Tony Ferguson at UFC 279.

Venturing into new areas of combat sports, he founded his combat sports promotion company, Real Fight Inc., in 2022. Diaz made his professional boxing debut in 2023 against Jake Paul and more recently competed in a professional boxing match against Jorge Masvidal in 2024, winning by majority decision, further cementing his diverse impact across the combat sports landscape.
