Nell Williams is an accomplished English actress, renowned for her captivating performances in both television and film.
Nell Williams, born Nell Marmalade Baxendale-Williams on September 13, 1998, in Hackney, London, England, began her professional acting career after being scouted in a National Youth Music Theatre production at the age of 11. She quickly secured roles in significant theatrical productions, including Caryl Churchill’s LOVE AND INFORMATION at the Royal Court and Peter Morgan’s THE AUDIENCE at the Gielgud Theatre in the West End in 2012 and 2013, respectively. Her early television appearances included the series The Revolting World of Stanley Brown in 2012, where she played Jess across 12 episodes, and the television film Loving Miss Hatto, also in 2012. These initial roles laid the foundation for her career in acting.
Williams gained wider recognition in 2015 for her portrayal of a young Cersei Lannister in Season 5 of the HBO series Game of Thrones. Following this, she continued to expand her filmography with roles in London Town (2016), Blinded by the Light (2019), and The Good Liar (2019), where she worked alongside Helen Mirren. She also featured in the BAFTA-winning Elizabeth Is Missing (2019) opposite Glenda Jackson and appeared in the independent film Inland (2022) with Mark Rylance. Her television work continued with appearances in series such as Grantchester (2016), Will (2017), Deep Water (2019), and We Hunt Together (2022).
Beyond her acting career, Nell Williams has pursued academic interests, studying History at UCL.
