Nicholas Adams is a musical theatre star, actor, singer and dancer famous for playing Whizzer Brown in the musical Falsettos. He also starred as Angelique alongside Kelsey Grammer in the Tony-winning cast of La Cage aux Folles on Broadway, and has appeared in numerous films and television shows including An Englishman in New York, Dancing with the Stars, It Could Be Worse, Sex and the City 2, Guiding Light, As the World Turns and Smash. Adams was the winner of two Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards for his role in Priscilla,Queen of the Desert in 2011 and was also honoured by the American Theatre Hall of Fame for his role in the musical. He was also nominated for the Astaire Award for Best Dancer on Broadway in 2011.
Born in Pennsylvania, United States, Adams earned a BFA in musical theatre with a minor in dance from the Boston Conservatory of Music in 2005. After relocating to New York he joined the international tour of Chicago, and later joined the cast on Broadway. Further Broadway roles followed for Adams in The Pirate Queen, Guys and Dolls and as Larry in the Broadway revival of A Chorus Line. 2014 saw the talented performer join the first national tour of smash-hit musical Wicked.
Adams featured as a dancer in Cheyenne Jackson’s video for his track ‘Don’t Wanna Know’ in 2012, and featured in the 2010 It Gets Better campaign supporting LGBTQ youth with his Priscilla Queen of the Desert cast members.
