A prominent figure in entertainment, Andrew Levitt began his drag career as Nina West in 2001. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater from Denison University, West became known for hosting the annual ‘Heels of Horror’ at Axis Nightclub and the competition ‘So You Think You Can Drag?’. Her prominence was cemented in 2008 with the Entertainer of the Year award, an achievement recognized when her distinctive ensemble inspired Sia’s outfit at the 2016 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Nina West’s national profile expanded significantly with her participation in the eleventh season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2019, finishing in sixth place and earning Miss Congeniality.
During her groundbreaking run, West achieved two challenge wins and made history in the ‘Snatch Game’ challenge as the first queen to impersonate a figure from the original Match Game. Following the show, West released three EPs in 2019: Drag Is Magic, John Goodman, and The West Christmas Ever. That same year, she became the first to walk the Emmy ‘purple carpet’ in full drag, starred in the animated short film Coaster, hosted RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked, and was named Top Local Artist by Columbus Underground. Her influence was further recognized with a cover feature in New York Magazine’s ‘The Most Powerful Drag Queens in America’.
Most recently, West competed in RuPauls Drag Race All Stars season 9 in 2024 and is slated to appear as Ginsey in the upcoming 2025 film Queens of the Dead.
