Norman Reedus is an American actor, artist, and former model who is arguably best known for his role as the volatile Daryl Dixon in AMC’s hit horror series, The Walking Dead. He played the part for more than a decade, appearing in almost 150 episodes across the show’s 11 seasons. He won numerous awards for the part, including a star on the world-famous Hollywood Walk of Fame, which was unveiled in 2022. 2023 sees him reprise the character for a spin-off series in which he will be the star.
But Reedus’ resume isn’t limited to The Walking Dead. He also had his own award-nominated reality show, Ride with Norman Reedus, which ran for five seasons on AMC and starred Reedus and a variety of guests travelling across America by motorbike. He has also appeared in films such as Blade II, American Gangster, The Boondock Saints, and many others. He has also worked in video games, providing the motion capture for the central character of Sam Porter Bridges in the 2019 Playstation game, Death Stranding, which won several awards and sold over 5 million copies.
Reedus’ career began back in the 1990s. His work as a model led to him appearing in music videos for some classic tracks of the time, including Radiohead’s ‘Fake Plastic Trees’ and Bjork’s ‘Violently Happy’. He turned to TV and film acting in the early 2000s and had already won awards for his work before being cast as the now legendary Daryl in The Walking Dead — one of, if not the most popular horror TV series of the century.
