Olga Kurylenko was born on November 14, 1979, in Berdyansk, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union. Her early life involved living in challenging conditions with her mother and grandmother after her parents divorced when she was three. Despite these circumstances, she pursued interests in art, languages, piano for seven years, and ballet until age 13. At the age of thirteen, while in Moscow, she was approached by a modeling agent, marking a pivotal moment in her career path. Her mother, after verifying the agent’s credentials, supported her training as a model.
At 16, Kurylenko moved to Paris, where she learned French within six months and signed with the Madison agency. Her modeling career quickly gained prominence, leading to appearances on the covers of major magazines such as Glamour, Elle, Madame Figaro, Marie Claire, and Vogue at the age of 18. She also became the face of several brands, including Lejaby lingerie, Bebe clothing, Clarins, and Helena Rubinstein cosmetics.
