Omarosa Manigault Newman, known mononymously as Omarosa, is an American writer and reality television personality, best known for appearing on NBC’s The Apprentice and for Unhinged, her New York Times best-selling memoir.
Hailing from Ohio, Newman, a communications graduate from Central State University and Howard University, got her start in politics in the 1990s, under the Clinton administration. During her tenure, she worked in the office of Vice President Al Gore and Clinton’s Commerce Department.
Newman rose to prominence in 2004 after she competed in the debut series of NBC’s The Apprentice, hosted by Donald Trump. She quickly became the show’s villain, before being fired in week 9. Just four years later, Newman was on television screens again in Celebrity Apprentice, in which she came to blows with Piers Morgan and was fired in the 10th episode. In the years since, Newman and Trump have collaborated on dating show The Ultimate Merger and All-Star Celebrity Apprentice. Newman has made appearances on dozens of talk shows, including Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and The Oprah Winfrey Show. Most recently, Newman made headlines during her time as a contestant in the first season of America’s Celebrity Big Brother, reaching the final.
Newman is perhaps best known for her working relationship with Trump, serving as a political aid during the early years of his presidency. With a complicated political history, Newman released Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House, her memoir, in 2018.
Today, Newman works with at-risk youth to end homelessness and speaks at events worldwide. A powerful headline speaker, Newman discusses her rise to stardom, exciting career and her headline-grabbing expose of the White House during Trump’s administration.
