Parvati Shallow, born on September 21, 1982, in Vero Beach, Florida, is an American television personality widely recognized for her strategic gameplay on the reality competition series *Survivor*. Raised within a ‘hippie’ commune that practiced Hinduism, her early life experiences contributed to her adaptable and sharp intellect. She later pursued a Bachelor of Journalism (ABJ) degree from the University of Georgia, where she was also a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. Her foundational experiences in boxing, which she began in 2004, further honed her competitive spirit, leading her to co-found ‘Knockouts for Girls,’ a charity dedicated to providing scholarships and boxing lessons for underprivileged girls.
Shallow first gained prominence as a contestant on *Survivor: Cook Islands* in 2006, where she finished in sixth place. Her manipulative and flirtatious playstyle earned her a return as a ‘Favorite’ on *Survivor: Micronesia — Fans vs. Favorites* in 2008. It was during this season that she cemented her legacy, winning the $1 million prize and the title of Sole Survivor, earning the nickname ‘Black Widow’ for her all-female alliance tactics. She continued to showcase her strategic prowess in subsequent appearances, including *Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains* in 2010, where she placed runner-up, and *Survivor: Winners at War* in 2020. In 2025, she further solidified her status by winning *Survivor: Australia V The World*, marking her second overall *Survivor* win and making her the first contestant to reach the final tribal council three times.
Beyond *Survivor*, Shallow has expanded her career into various other ventures. She has appeared on other reality shows like *The Traitors 2* (2024) and *Deal or No Deal Island 2* (2025). Furthermore, Shallow is an author, with her memoir *Nice Girls Don’t Win: How I Burned It All Down to Claim My Power* released in 2025, and a co-author of the children’s book *Om the Otter* (2020). She also hosts a podcast under the same title as her memoir and offers life coaching, notably through her ‘How Villains are Made’ course, which focuses on personal empowerment. Her multifaceted career highlights a consistent evolution from a reality TV strategist to a respected figure in personal development and media.
