Paul Bradley

Paul Bradley is an accomplished English actor, writer, and musician, widely recognized for his extensive work in television, film, and theatre. After gaining significant recognition for his portrayal of Nigel Bates in the BBC soap opera EastEnders, Paul Bradley went on to establish a versatile career across television, film, and theatre. Bradley originated the role of Nigel Bates in March 1992, becoming a well-known figure and contributing to numerous storylines during his initial tenure until April 1998. During this period, he notably performed ‘Nessun Dorma’ in a 1993 episode.

In film, he secured a minor role as Yehuda in Roman Polanski’s critically acclaimed, Oscar-winning 2002 film The Pianist. He also appeared as Mr. Pandemic in Twisted Tales in 2005. Bradley continued to expand his work across various mediums, featuring as Sam in Fraser Ayres’ Glimpse in 2013 and reprising his role as Elliot Hope for Catherine Tate for Children in Need in 2013.

In the summer of 2021, he took to the stage in London’s West End, performing as Major Metcalfe in the iconic production of The Mousetrap. Alongside his acting career, Bradley is an accomplished musician, serving as a guitarist and vocalist for the progressive folk band The hKippers, which he co-leads with Academy Award-winning composer Stephen Warbeck, having released music with the group. In recent years, Bradley has continued his robust television presence. In 2023, he played Reverend Brian Rushton in the series The Burning Girls.

The beginning of 2024 saw him appear as Noah Culpepper in the BBC crime drama Beyond Paradise, and significantly, he returned to his career-defining role as Nigel Bates in EastEnders, resuming appearances in the long-running soap opera in 2024.
