Paul Campbell is a Canadian actor and writer. He shot to fame on the reboot of Battlestar Galactica, in which he played Billy Keikeya, the aide of President Roslin. This science-fiction drama was critically acclaimed and has taken a cult role within popular culture in the years following its release. He gained recent success as a series regular as Beckett Ryan in the sitcom Spun Out from 2014-15. Campbell has proven to be an actor capable of exploring many genres, from drama to light-hearted comedy and romantic roles.
Campbell was born in Vancouver, Canada. After discovering a talent for acting and performing, he attended theatre school. He took several guest roles on television after graduating, working on shows such as Black Sash, Andromeda and Peacemakers. After getting his big break on Battlestar Galactica, he made a name for himself on film and television, appearing on productions like The Big Year with Jack Black and Owen Wilson, 88 Minutes with Al Pacino and the horror film Severed.
After taking on many acting roles, Campbell has taken a more active role in the production of films, continuing to hone his writing and directing skills. He wrote, produced and acted in the movie Christmas by Starlight, which is in production and due to be released by the end of November. He is passionate about social causes, campaigning for LGBT equality as well as using his platform to encourage Americans to vote.
