Paul Chowdhury

Paul Chowdhury established himself as a prominent figure in British comedy after becoming the first British act to perform at the Caribbean Comedy Festival in Trinidad in 2003, showcasing his unique observational and satirical comedy to international audiences. Having begun his stand-up career in 1998 in London’s vibrant club scene, Chowdhury quickly developed a reputation for his razor-sharp delivery. His television presence grew with a recurring role on ‘Stand Up for the Week’ and two headlining appearances on ‘Live at the Apollo’ in 2012 and 2015, solidifying his reach to wider audiences. His debut stand-up special, ‘What’s Happening White People?’, was released in 2012, marking a significant milestone in his touring career.

His versatility further extended to popular entertainment, featuring as a contestant on ‘Taskmaster’ in 2016 and making multiple appearances on ‘8 Out of 10 Cats.’ Chowdhry has received significant industry recognition, earning the Comedy award at the Eastern Eye Arts, Culture & Theatre Awards in 2019 and being named Comedian of the Year at the Asian Voice Political & Public Life Awards in the same year. His special ‘Live Innit?’ was honored with the Best Live Event award at the ITV Asian Media Awards in 2018, acknowledging its impact and success. In 2021, Paul Chowdhury launched ‘The Paul Chowdhry PudCast,’ a highly popular platform where he interviews fellow comedians, further cementing his influence and engagement within the comedy circuit. Looking ahead, Chowdhury is set to embark on his ‘Englandia’ UK stand-up tour for 2025, which includes a highly anticipated show at The O2, showcasing his continued demand as one of the UK’s top-selling stand-up comics.
