Paula Badosa

Paula Badosa transitioned from a junior tennis champion to a top-ranked WTA Tour professional, achieving a career-high world No. 2 ranking and winning major titles. After winning the girls’ singles title at the 2015 French Open, Paula Badosa quickly established herself as a formidable talent. Her junior career featured victories at the Grade-1 Mediterranee Avenir in Casablanca (February 2014) and the Grade-1 Trofeo Juan Carlos Ferrero (April 2014).

She made her Grand Slam main-draw debut at the 2019 Australian Open and reached her inaugural WTA Tour semifinal at the Palermo Ladies Open in July 2019, entering the WTA top 100. In 2020, she advanced to the round of 16 at the French Open, overcoming former Grand Slam champions Sloane Stephens and Je?ena Ostapenko. The year 2021 marked a pivotal moment with a breakthrough clay season, including reaching the Madrid Open semifinals, a first for a Spanish woman. She claimed her maiden WTA Tour singles title at the Serbia Open, then earned her first WTA 1000 title at Indian Wells in October 2021 by defeating Victoria Azarenka in a three-hour final, propelling her into the world’s top 10 that November.

That year, she reached her first WTA 1000 semifinal since 2022 at the Cincinnati Open and her second Grand Slam quarterfinal at the US Open. These performances saw her return to the top 20 and subsequently the top 15 in WTA rankings. In 2025, she reached her first major semifinal at the Australian Open and returned to the world’s top 10.
