Pauly Shore

Paul Montgomery Shore, born on February 1, 1968, in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, was immersed in show business from a young age due to his parents, comedian Sammy Shore and Mitzi Shore, co-founders of The Comedy Store. At 17, Shore began his stand-up comedy career at the Alley Cat Bistro in Culver City, developing his ‘The Weasel’ persona, characterized by surfer-style slang. This early exposure and unique comedic style laid the groundwork for his future career in entertainment.

Shore achieved significant recognition in the early 1990s as an MTV VJ, a role he held from 1989 to 1994, which included hosting his own show, “Totally Pauly,” and MTV’s annual Spring Break events. His film career took off in 1992 with “Encino Man,” followed by leading roles in movies such as “Son in Law” (1993), “In the Army Now” (1994), “Jury Duty” (1995), and “Bio-Dome” (1996). Despite these films receiving critical backlash, Shore continued to work, providing voice acting for animated features like “A Goofy Movie” (1995) and “An Extremely Goofy Movie” (2000).

In the 2000s, Shore diversified his career by producing, writing, and directing the semi-autobiographical mockumentary “Pauly Shore Is Dead” (2003) and starring in the reality series “Minding the Store” (2005). He has maintained an active presence in stand-up comedy, touring the country, and has taken on guest roles in television shows. More recently, Shore has explored new ventures, including creating AI-related content and a short film where he portrays Richard Simmons, continuing to adapt his career in the evolving entertainment landscape.
