Pilou Asbaek

From his acclaimed roles in Danish dramas to his presence in global blockbusters and hit television series, Pilou Asbaek has established himself as a versatile international actor. After his breakthrough performance as the inmate Rune in the 2010 prison drama ‘R’, Pilou Asbaek earned the Best Actor award at The Danish Critic Association Award (Bodil) and the Danish Film Academy Awards (Robert). Asbaek had previously made his acting debut in 2008 with a leading role in Niels Arden Oplev’s drama ‘Worlds Apart’, the same year he graduated from The Danish National School of Performing Arts. His talent received further international recognition in 2011 when he was named a Shooting Star at the Berlinale, an honor bestowed upon ten promising European actors.

Asbaek then gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Kasper Juul, the spin doctor for the Danish Prime Minister, in the BAFTA-winning television series ‘Borgen’, a role he held from 2010 to 2013. Continuing his progression in major international productions, Asbaek joined the cast of HBO’s critically acclaimed series ‘Game of Thrones’ in 2016, where he portrayed the formidable character of Euron Greyjoy across seasons 6 and 7.
