Q Parker, born Quinnes Daymond Parker, is a musician, composer and actor, best known for being a member of the beloved R&B group 112 from 1993 to 2018. In addition to all his musical success with the group, Q has had some major solo success as well, working on numerous movies and television shows as well as solo records. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, it was in high school that Q first met his soon to be band members. They started performing at an early age together, at local talent shows and in church and school. The talented quartet were eventually signed to Bad Boy Records, and consisted of Quinnes, Michael Keith, Marvin Scandrick and Daron Jones.
In 1995 Q made his film debut, providing the soundtrack for the comedy Money Train. He has gone on to work musically on major projects such as Save The Last Dance (2001), Taxi (2004), Hitch (2005), Dancing with the Stars (2009), The X Factor UK (2010), and Magic Mike XXL (2015). In 1996 112 released their self-titled debut album, which eventually went double platinum and sold over 2 million copies. The album made it to the Top 5 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart.
The group skyrocketed to success, touring with legends such as Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston, and contributing to records by Notorious B.I.G., Puff Daddy and Mase. In 1997 Q and the 112 boys won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for their feature on the single I’ll Be Missing You by Puff Daddy and Faith Evans. They were nominated once again for a Grammy in 2001 for their singles Peaches & Cream. In 2008 Q released his debut solo album, Real Talk, a collaboration between his own record label NewFam Entertainment and Drift City Records. In 2017 112 released their first album in 12 years, Q,Mike,Slim,Daron.
