Rachel Feinstein

Rachel Feinstein was born in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Bethesda, Maryland. Her father, Howard Feinstein, was a civil rights lawyer and blues musician, while her mother, Karen, worked as a social worker. Feinstein moved to New York City at age 17 to pursue a creative career. She initially explored theater before transitioning to stand-up comedy, where she honed her craft through open mic nights and local shows.

Feinstein’s career gained significant momentum when she became a finalist on season 7 of “Last Comic Standing” in 2010. Following this, she released her debut comedy album, “Thug Tears,” in 2011, through Comedy Central Records. Her comedic style, characterized by observational humor, has resonated with audiences, leading to appearances on major platforms. In 2013, she lent her voice to the character of talk show host Michele Makes in “Grand Theft Auto V,” expanding her reach into video games.

A pivotal moment in her career was the release of her first comedy special, “Only Whores Wear Purple,” in 2016, produced by Amy Schumer and released on Comedy Central. Her second special, “Big Guy,” premiered on Netflix in 2024. Feinstein has also built an acting resume, appearing in HBO’s “Crashing” (2017–2019), “Inside Amy Schumer” (2013–2022), and Amazon’s “Life & Beth” (2022). She has performed stand-up sets on “Conan,” “The Tonight Show,” and “The Late Late Show,” showcasing her consistent presence in the comedy circuit. She married Peter Brennan, a Battalion Chief of the New York City Fire Department, in September 2018, and later became a mother to a daughter.
