The witty and affable John Weisbarth is a TV host and sportscaster, an event emcee and filmmaker. He is best known for presenting the Netflix reality TV series Tiny House Nation, and the Emmy Award-winning reality golf show Playing Through with John Weisbarth.
Born in Florida, and raised in California, Weisbarth initially wanted to be a professional footballer. He was a 4-year letter winner in soccer at High School and was named to the California State Olympic Development soccer team during his Junior year. But things didn’t work out and so he turned his sights to radio, and while at the University of California, Santa Barbara he was the Sports Director on the campus radio station. After graduating in 1998 he began to pursue a career in broadcasting and started out as a sports reporter for XTRA Sports 690. He then joined Cox Communications/Channel 4 San Diego in 2001 where he was host of San Diego Padres Pre and Postgame shows, as well as host of a 30 minute sports wrap show 5 days a week. In 2008 he began working as a host and producer on Millimeter Production’s Quick Fix, an every-man’s “how to” show for home projects. In 2011 he joined Yahoo Sports as a show host for the No.1 fantasy football show on the web, Fantasy Football Live. In 2013 he co-created and hosted the Emmy Award-winning reality golf show Playing Through with John Weisbarth on Comcast and Fox Sports, until he began hosting Tiny House Nation on Netflix in 2014.
Weisbarth regularly connects with his legions of followers and fans through Instagram, and Twitter, posting pictures and videos about his day-to-day life around broadcasting.
