Giuseppe Bausilio

Giuseppe Bausilio was born on June 20, 1997, in Bern, Switzerland. His early career began with performances in various operas and ballets at the Bern Theatre and Theater im Kafigturm in his hometown. He gained recognition for his dance abilities, placing third in a dance competition which led to a pivotal audition for “Billy” in the production of *Billy Elliot the Musical*. This role became a cornerstone of his early career, showcasing his talent on prominent stages.

Bausilio’s portrayal of “Billy” in *Billy Elliot the Musical* began with the Chicago production, followed by the National Tour, and eventually led to his debut on Broadway in July 2011. He continued to build his stage career, joining the Broadway production of *Newsies* as “Race” in October 2013 and later adding to his Broadway credits with roles in *Aladdin*, *Cats*, *Hello, Dolly!*, *Hamilton*, and the upcoming *Sunset Boulevard*. His versatility as a performer is evident in his transitions from intense dance roles to dramatic and ensemble parts.

Beyond the stage, Bausilio has made significant contributions to film and television. He starred as Alfie in 42 episodes of the Canadian television series *The Next Step* from 2016 to 2021 and took on the lead role of Michael Fiorelli in the 2020 independent musical feature film *Ode to Passion*.
