Randy Moss

The following year, in Marshall’s first season in Division I-A (1997), he caught 26 touchdown passes, earning first-team All-American honors and finishing fourth in Heisman Trophy balloting. Moss was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round (21st overall) of the 1998 NFL Draft. In his rookie year, he immediately made an impact, setting an NFL record with 17 touchdown receptions, earning Pro Bowl honors, and being named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Throughout his illustrious career, Moss played for the Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, and San Francisco 49ers, cementing his legacy as one of the league’s most dominant wide receivers.

He holds the NFL single-season record for touchdown receptions with 23, achieved in 2007 while with the New England Patriots, and ranks second in career touchdown receptions (156) and fourth in career receiving yards (15,292). Moss earned six Pro Bowl selections (1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007) and four First-team All-Pro selections (1998, 2000, 2003, 2007). He also played in Super Bowl XLII with the Patriots in 2007 and Super Bowl XLVII with the 49ers in 2012. His exceptional achievements were recognized with his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018, as well as being named to the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team and the NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team.

He founded the Links for Learning foundation, dedicated to supporting children’s education in West Virginia. His entrepreneurial pursuits include Randy Moss Motorsports in NASCAR, showcasing his interest in diverse sports, and strategic investments in the restaurant industry. Moss continues to leverage his status and expertise to impact various sectors, maintaining a dynamic career that extends far beyond the football field.
