Rati Gupta is an American actor and writer, known for her roles in popular television series including “The Big Bang Theory,” “Future Man,” and “Unbelievable.” After making her acting debut as Nikki in the 2011 TV movie Worst. Prom. Ever., Rati Gupta went on to secure a role as Yamini in the film Where the Road Meets the Sun the same year. She continued to refine her craft with an appearance as a Bank Teller in an episode of the critically acclaimed FX comedy series Better Things in 2016.
Gupta garnered widespread attention and recognition for her recurring role as Anu, the sharp and witty fiancée of Rajesh Ramayan Koothrappali, in the highly popular CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory. Her impactful portrayal across nine episodes between 2018 and 2019 became a key part of the show’s narrative during its final, highly-watched seasons. Building on her breakthrough on The Big Bang Theory, Gupta showcased her range in 2019 with multiple significant television roles. She took on the character of Rake for seven episodes of Hulus acclaimed sci-fi comedy series Future Man, which earned a strong following for its unique premise and humor.
Most recently in 2020, Gupta further demonstrated her multi-hyphenate talent by serving as a writer for seven episodes of the television series Heart Baby Eggplant.
