Raz B

De’Mario Monte Thornton, known professionally as Raz B, was born on June 13, 1985, in Cleveland, Ohio. His career began in 1998 as a founding member of the R&B boy band B2K. With B2K, he achieved significant commercial success, including the release of their album “Pandemonium!” and a feature film, “You Got Served,” in 2004. After the group’s announced break-up, Raz B pursued a solo career, launching his own production company, RazBeatz Entertainment. In May 2007, he released his first solo single, “Fire,” which debuted on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales chart at number 2 and the Billboard Hot Singles Sales chart also at number 2, demonstrating his ability to succeed as an independent artist.

Throughout his career, Raz B has continued to produce music and engage with his audience. In March 2010, he released his first mixtape, “Boy 2 King,” followed by the “Paradox-EP” in March 2012. He embarked on a tour in China in 2011, performing in various locations. In 2013, during a performance in Zhejiang province, Raz B intervened in an audience altercation and sustained an injury, leading to initial reports of serious condition which were later clarified as misinformation. He has also expanded his work into acting, with roles in films like “You Got Served” (2004) and “Homies兄弟” (2014), and television series such as “Noah’s Arc” (2006) and “Bad Boys” (2023), where he appeared as a main cast member in its second season.

Raz B’s journey reflects his adaptability and persistence within the entertainment industry, transitioning from a successful group member to a solo artist, entrepreneur, and actor.
