Rick Fox

Ulrich Alexander Fox was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on July 24, 1969. He moved to the Bahamas at a young age, where he began his basketball journey. He attended Kingsway Academy in Nassau and later Warsaw Community High School in Indiana. Despite an eligibility issue preventing him from playing his senior year, he went on to play college basketball at the University of North Carolina, where he distinguished himself as the all-time school steals leader and games played leader.

Fox was drafted by the Boston Celtics in the first round as the 24th overall pick in the 1991 NBA Draft. He became the first rookie starter on opening night since Larry Bird in 1979 and earned a spot on the 1992 NBA All-Rookie Second Team, averaging 8 points per game. By the 1995–96 season, he was the Celtics’ starting small forward, achieving double-figure scoring and career highs of 15.4 points, 2.2 steals per game, and 101 three-point field goals in the 1996–97 season. In 1997, he signed with the Los Angeles Lakers, contributing to their three consecutive NBA championships from 2000 to 2002 as a versatile role-player. He retired from the NBA in 2004.

Beyond his basketball career, Rick Fox has cultivated a diverse career in acting and entrepreneurship. He appeared in films such as “Blue Chips” (1994), “Eddie” (1996), “He Got Game” (1998), and “Holes” (2003), and television series including “Oz” (1997–2003), “One Tree Hill” (2006), “Ugly Betty” (2007), “The Big Bang Theory” (2011), and “Greenleaf” (2017–2020). In 2015, he ventured into professional gaming, co-founding the eSports franchise Echo Fox. More recently, he has focused on environmental initiatives, becoming the co-founder and CEO of Partanna Global, a company developing carbon-negative building materials.
