Ridy Sheikh

Ridy Sheikh is a dancer, choreographer, and model known for her work in various dance styles and her contributions to the dance scene in Bangladesh. After participating in the Ukrainian version of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ in 2012, where she reached the Top 100, Ridy Sheikh quickly established herself as a versatile dancer and choreographer. Her extensive training in diverse styles including hip-hop, jazz-funk, waacking, Indian folk dances, semi-classical fusions of Bharatnatyam and Kathak, and various European dance forms contributed to her multifaceted performance capabilities. She made a compelling return to competitive dance in 2014, advancing to the Top 50 in the Russian version of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’.

Ridy Sheikh’s contributions to culture were officially recognized in 2023 when she was named a winner in the ‘Culture’ category by bti Stellar Women, underscoring her influential role in the arts. Currently residing in Dhaka, Ridy Sheikh is actively engaged in shaping the evolving dance landscape in Bangladesh, championing the professionalization of dance and challenging social stigmas surrounding it as a profession. She maintains a significant presence on her official YouTube Channel, inspiring a broad international audience with her work. Her vision includes opening a dedicated dance school offering scholarship packages for talented, unrecognized dancers, further contributing to the development and accessibility of dance as a viable career path.
