Rita Baga is a prominent drag queen and television personality from Montreal, Quebec, known for her captivating performances and significant contributions to the 2SLGBTQ+ community. After establishing herself as a regular performer at Montreal’s iconic Cabaret Mado in 2010, Rita Baga became a prominent figure in the local drag scene. She expanded her visibility with an appearance on ‘La Guerre des clans’ in 2013 and became permanent host of the popular Bagalicious show at Cabaret Mado in 2014. Demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit, Rita Baga launched MX Fierté, a cross-Canada drag pageant, in 2016, the same year she released her debut single ‘Fashionista’ and performed at the KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival.
She further cemented her influence by becoming the first drag queen on the cover of Elle Quebec magazine and the first to partner with the L’Oréal brand. Rita Baga’s impact on entertainment continued with her critically acclaimed theatre tour, ‘Créature,’ which launched in 2021 and earned her a Félix Award nomination in 2022. She returned to the global stage in 2022, competing in ‘Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs. the World’ where she secured a top four position.
She is preparing a new live show and is set to appear in a supporting role for the ‘Bon Cop, Bad Cop’ television series adaptation in 2025, alongside her single ‘Sunglasses at Night’ in 2025.
