Robbie Keane

Robbie Keane transitioned from a prolific footballer, celebrated for his goal-scoring ability and leadership as captain of the Republic of Ireland, to an impactful football coach, sharing his extensive experience with new generations of players and leading teams to significant victories. After scoring twice on his professional debut for Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1997, Robbie Keane quickly became a prominent figure in professional football. His early potential led to a British record transfer fee for a teenager of £6 million when he joined Coventry City in 1999. Following a stint at Inter Milan in 2000 under manager Marcello Lippi and a period at Leeds United where he netted nine goals in 14 starts, Keane moved to Tottenham Hotspur in 2002.

Following his retirement from playing, he seamlessly transitioned into coaching, having already achieved his UEFA ‘A’ Licence in 2016. He took on assistant managerial roles for the Republic of Ireland national team under Mick McCarthy and later for Middlesbrough in the Championship. In June 2023, Keane took on his first head managerial position with Maccabi Tel Aviv, demonstrating immediate impact by leading the team to win both the Israeli Premier League and the Toto Cup in his inaugural 2023–24 season. Building on this success, Keane was appointed head coach of Ferencváros in January 2025, where he continued his winning streak by securing the Nemzeti Bajnokság I league title in the 2024–25 season.
