Brazilian born Romero Britto is a world-renowned artist living in Miami. He specializes in a vibrant and dynamic style where he experiments with colour so he can express his optimistic view of the world he lives in.
Upon his first trip to Paris, Britto discovered iconic artist such as Picasso and Matisse. He was instantly inspired and came into his own as a artist. The visual narrative and language Britto conveys is all rooted to happiness. Whilst his style consists of combining cubism, pop art and graffiti, it really does show just how unique this artist is.
Romero’s work may be distinguished from the famous Absolut vodka art ad campaign where he redesigned the bottle, which would then be seen by millions. His work has also been exhibited in galleries and museums all over the world, from the Salon de la Societe Nationale des Beaux Arts exhibition at the Carrousel du Louvre. Creating some of the world’s most interesting public art installations definitely put Britto on the map, from 02 Dome in Berlin to New York’s JFK airport and the Cirque du Soleil at the super bowl. On top of this his work has been credited with the largest monumental sculpture in London’s Hyde Park history.
With a strong belief that ‘art is too important not to share’ Britto has donated to over 250 charitable organizations. His status as an activist is held highly in the scene and his constant generosity is a true inspiration to others in his position.
