Ron Funches

Ronald Kyle Funches was born on March 12, 1983, in Carson, California. He spent his early life in Chicago, Illinois, before moving to Salem, Oregon, as a teenager. Funches began his career in stand-up comedy at the age of 23 in Portland, Oregon. His calm and endearing comedic style quickly distinguished him. Following his move to Los Angeles in 2012, Funches appeared in various comedy series, including “@midnight,” “Mulaney,” and “Kroll Show.” He also worked as a writer for “The Eric Andre Show” and Comedy Central’s “The Half Hour” in 2014, showcasing his diverse talents in the comedy industry.

From 2014 to 2016, Funches held a regular role as Shelly on the NBC series “Undateable.” His voice acting career also gained momentum during this period, with roles in animated series such as “BoJack Horseman,” “The Adventures of Puss in Boots,” and “Adventure Time.” A significant milestone was his voice role as Cooper in the animated film “Trolls” (2016), a character he later reprised in “Trolls World Tour” (2020) and the spin-off series “Trolls: The Beat Goes On!” (2018).
