Ross Marquand

Ross Marquand, born on August 22, 1981, in Fort Collins, Colorado, developed an early interest in acting. His initial experience in performance began at age nine with a church play. He later joined the Boy Scouts of America, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. During his youth, Marquand faced bullying, finding inspiration in characters like Wolverine from ‘X-Men: The Animated Series’, which motivated him to pursue acting. He attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance, participating in various stage productions including ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ and ‘The Cherry Orchard’.

After completing his education, Marquand relocated to Los Angeles in 2006 to further his career in acting. He gained recognition for his portrayal of the late Paul Newman on AMC’s ‘Mad Men’. His most widely recognized role is as Aaron on ‘The Walking Dead’, beginning in 2015, where he played the series’ first openly gay male character across 115 episodes. His career expanded into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2018, where he took on the roles of Red Skull in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’, and Ultron in ‘Avengers: Damage Control’ (2019) and ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ (2022). Marquand also voiced these characters in the animated series ‘What If…?’ (2021).

Marquand is also an established voice actor, contributing his vocal talents to numerous animated projects. His voice work includes ‘Invincible’ (2021–present), ‘X-Men ’97’ (2024–present), ‘Family Guy’, ‘Robot Chicken’, and ‘American Dad’. He is recognized for his skill in impersonating over 60 celebrities, including Harrison Ford, Brad Pitt, and Matthew McConaughey.
