Serenay Sarıkaya was born on July 1, 1992, in Ankara, Turkey. Her acting career began at a young age, with minor roles in films such as “Saskin” (2006) and “Plajda” (2008) when she was fourteen. Her first leading role came in 2008 with the fantasy children’s series “Peri Masali.” She gained international recognition for her performance as Sofia in the crime comedy series “Adanali” (2008-2010), a role that showcased her ability to portray characters with distinct accents. Sarıkaya continued to develop her acting skills in various television projects, including “Limon Agaci” and “Lale Devri,” before achieving significant acclaim for “Medcezir,” a Turkish adaptation of “The O.C.”
Her career progressed with notable roles in both film and television. In 2013, she starred in “Behzat Ç. Ankara Yanıyor” and from 2013 to 2015, she led the series “Medcezir” as Mira Beylice. Another milestone was her leading role as Duru Durulay in the critically acclaimed internet series “Fi” (2017-2018), which was among Turkey’s first major online streaming productions.
