Ryan David Leak was born on February 28, 1998, in Burton upon Trent, England. His professional football career began at a young age, joining the Wolverhampton Wanderers academy at seven and remaining with the club for 14 years. During his time at Wolverhampton Wanderers, he progressed through the youth ranks and made his debut for the U23 side in 2016 in an EFL Trophy match. He subsequently gained senior experience through multiple loan spells. His first loan was to The New Saints in the Cymru Premier for the 2017–2018 season, where he made 12 appearances and scored one goal. This was followed by a brief loan to AFC Telford United. In a notable international move, Leak embarked on a season-long loan to FC Jumilla in Spain’s Segunda División B for the 2018–2019 season, where he accumulated 30 appearances, demonstrating his adaptability to different football environments.
Following his departure from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2019, Leak continued his career in Spain, joining Burgos CF in Segunda División B. Over two seasons with Burgos CF, he played 25 games and was part of the squad that achieved promotion to La Liga 2 in 2020–2021. In July 2021, he returned to English football, signing a two-year contract with Burton Albion in EFL League One after a successful trial. He made 16 appearances for Burton Albion before moving to Salford City in EFL League Two in July 2022 for an undisclosed fee, signing another two-year deal. With Salford City, he played 38 matches and scored two goals. In August 2023, Leak transitioned to Scottish football, joining Ross County in the Scottish Premiership, where he has since made 49 appearances.
