Ryan O’Flanagan is an American comedian, actor, and writer currently best known for playing Steven “Kraz” Krazanski in Netflix mockumentary American Vandal. He has also had roles in the likes of New Girl and Dave and has also provided voices for shows such as American Dad! and Disney’s critically-acclaimed animated series The Owl House.
Based in Los Angeles, O’Flanagan began making his name in comedy as part of Dead Kevin, a sketch trio whose self-titled show aired on YouTube to the channels 30,000+ subscribers from 2013 to 2015 (and was revived during the pandemic of 2020). The group were featured on Comedy Central Digital, as well as other leading comedy outlets, and were named by LA Weekly as one of 2013’s must-watch comedy acts. As the show became a success, O’Flanagan began appearing in shorts such as Hunger Pains and Hairpin Bender whilst also securing guest roles in the likes of New Girl and My Super-Overactive Imagination. His acting breakthrough, however, came in 2017 with American Vandal, a parody of popular true-crime documentary series such as Making a Murderer. Lately, his increasing workload as a voice actor has been bringing his talents to different kinds of audiences.
As a stand-up comic, O’Flanagan has performed around the world, appearing at major comedy festivals such as the Blue Whale Comedy Festival in Oklahoma, Just for Laughs in Montreal, and the Vodafone Comedy Festival in Dublin. He has also worked with the Will Ferrell-backed comedy outfit Funny or Die, writing and starring in a series of hilarious sketches.
