Sabre Norris

Sabre Elle Norris was born on January 3, 2005, in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. The eldest child of Olympic swimmer Justin Norris and Brooke Norris, Sabre began her athletic career at a young age, demonstrating significant talent in both surfing and skateboarding. She gained public attention in 2016 when, at 11 years old, she became the second-youngest surfer to compete in the open round of the Sydney International Women’s Pro. An interview on Australia’s The Today Show gained over 2 million views, leading to an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which amassed 40 million views.

In skateboarding, Norris made history as the third female and first Australian female to land a “540.” Her accomplishments continued in 2018 when she secured a bronze medal at the X Games, also becoming the first woman to perform a McTwist on a skateboard at the event. That same year, she won the Bondi Bowl-A-Rama and achieved second place in the Vans Park Series Oceania Championships. Diagnosed with Chiari malformation in 2018, Norris has continued to pursue her passions while managing her health. She was featured in the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s 2019 biographical podcast series, “Fierce Girls,” in an episode titled “Sabre Norris — the girl who shreds waves and skate parks.” In 2021, she appeared in the documentary film “Tall Poppy: A Skater’s Story.”

Beyond her athletic achievements, Sabre Norris and her family maintain a significant presence on YouTube through their channels, which focus on family life, gaming, and various challenges.
