Safaree Samuels

Safaree Lloyd Samuels was born on July 4, 1981, in Brooklyn, New York City, to Jamaican immigrant parents and was raised in Canarsie, New York. His career in the music industry began in the early 2000s as a hype man for the hip hop group Hoodstars. Although he was not a writer for the group, he contributed to their presence. The group, which included Nicki Minaj, recorded the WWE Diva Victoria’s entrance song, “Don’t Mess With,” for the 2004 compilation album ‘ThemeAddict: WWE The Music, Vol. 6’. After the Hoodstars disbanded, Samuels continued working as a hype man for Minaj, whom he also dated from 2003 to 2014. He received ad-lib writing credits on three songs from Minaj’s 2012 album, ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’.

Samuels transitioned into reality television, joining the cast of VH1’s ‘Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood’ for its third season in May 2016. His involvement in the franchise expanded, making him the only cast member to appear in all four ‘Love & Hip Hop’ shows, including ‘Love & Hip Hop: New York’, ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’, and ‘Love & Hip Hop: Miami’. As a solo artist, he released mixtapes such as ‘It Is What It Is’ (2015), ‘It Is What It Is, Vol. 2’ (2015), and ‘Real Yard Vibes’ (2016). In 2017, he participated in VH1’s ‘Scared Famous’. Samuels also received a Blue & Bougie Impact Award in February 2018 for representing Jamaica on VH1.

His career milestones include the release of his studio album ‘Strt’ in 2020, and additional mixtapes like ‘Fur Coat Vol. 1’ (2017) and ‘IDGAF***’ (2021). Notably, in 2019, he launched an “Anaconda” line of dildos. In 2020, Samuels opened an OnlyFans account, sharing amateur pornographic videos. He was married to actress Erica Mena from 2019 to 2022, and they have two children. His appearances on various reality shows, alongside his music releases and entrepreneurial ventures, highlight his consistent presence in entertainment.
