Sanya Lopez

Shaira Lenn Osuna Roberto, publicly known as Sanya Lopez, was born on August 9, 1996, in Malolos, Bulacan. Her early life saw the loss of her father at age two. Her entertainment career began in 2012 when she was discovered by German Moreno on the set of ‘Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman’. Initially mistaken for another actress, she soon became a co-host on the program, marking her entry into the industry alongside her brother, actor Jak Roberto.

Lopez’s career advanced through supporting roles in GMA Network series such as ‘Dormitoryo’ and ‘The Half Sisters’, where she played Lorna. Her breakthrough arrived in 2016 when she secured the role of Danaya in the television remake of ‘Encantadia’, a role previously held by Diana Zubiri, who publicly congratulated Lopez. This role significantly elevated her public profile and established her as a prominent figure in Philippine television. Subsequently, she transitioned into lead roles in various series, including ‘Haplos’ as Angela, ‘Cain at Abel’ as Margaret, and ‘Dahil sa Pag-ibig’ as Mariel, showcasing her versatility as an actress.

The period from 2020 onwards marked a resurgence in Lopez’s career. She was cast as Melody Reyes in ‘First Yaya’ in 2020, taking over from Marian Rivera. In 2021, she starred as Maya Lagman in ‘Agimat ng Agila’. Both series were successful, leading to second seasons in 2022. Her commitment to ‘First Lady’, the retitled second season of ‘First Yaya’, necessitated her character’s departure from ‘Agimat ng Agila’. In 2023, she played Hara Urduja in ‘Mga Lihim ni Urduja’ and Teresita Borromeo in the historical drama ‘Pulang Araw’ in 2024. Lopez also reprised her role as Hara Danaya in ‘Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre’ in 2025. Her debut single, “Hot Maria Clara,” released in 2022 on GMA Music, gained significant attention in 2025, topping Spotify’s Viral 50 Philippines Chart due to its popularity on social media.
