Sarah McLeod is a New Zealand actress known for her role as Rosie Cotton in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, and for her work in New Zealand television. After captivating audiences as Rosie Cotton in Peter Jackson’s acclaimed ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring’ in 2001, Sarah McLeod went on to reprise her iconic role in ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King’ in 2003. Her involvement in the fantasy trilogy was particularly notable, with her own daughter, Maisy, appearing as Rosie and Samwise’s infant son in ‘The Return of the King’. McLeod’s collaboration with director Peter Jackson began earlier, providing research assistance for his mockumentary ‘Forgotten Silver’ in 1995, marking an early start to her contributions in the film industry.

Early roles included credits in ‘Jackson’s Wharf’ and ‘A Twist in the Tale’. Later, she appeared in productions such as ‘Doves of War’, ‘We’re Here to Help’, ‘Hugh & Heke’, and ‘Auckland Daze’. Her acting credits extended into the early 2020s with roles in ‘Princess of Chaos’ and ‘Kid Sister’, maintaining a consistent presence in film and television.
