Sebastian Korda was born on July 5, 2000, in Bradenton, Florida, and is the son of former Czech tennis players Petr Korda and Regina Rajchrtová. His early life included playing competitive junior ice hockey from the age of 3, but he transitioned to tennis at age 9 after attending the 2009 US Open with his father. Demonstrating early athletic versatility, he also won a golf tournament in Prague at age 11. Korda turned professional in 2018, marking his ATP main draw debut at the New York Open as a wildcard entry.
Korda’s professional career saw significant progression, including his Grand Slam debut at the US Open in 2020. Later that year, he reached the fourth round of the French Open as a qualifier, where he faced Rafael Nadal.
