Seth Morrison was sponsored by K2 skis in 1992 and was ultimately fired by K2 Skis in 2016, a partnership that lasted 24 years. During this time, K2 produced several models of skis bearing his namesake.

Seth Morrison, born on November 30, 1973, in Murray, Kentucky, established himself as a prominent figure in professional skiing. His family moved to Vail, Colorado, in 1984, where he spent his middle and high school years. Early in his career, Morrison gained recognition for his aggressive style, particularly his willingness to perform back-flips off 100-foot cliffs. This approach quickly attracted attention within the freeskiing community. He first competed in the U.S. National Extremes in 1993, securing a tied second place at the age of 19, signaling the start of a significant career in extreme skiing.
Throughout his career, Morrison consistently competed at a high level, participating in events such as the U.S. Extreme Freeskiing Championships and the Johnny Moseley Invitational. He achieved an 8th place in Skier Cross at the X Games in Crested Butte in 1999 and placed 9th at the Canadian Freeskiing Championships in Whistler/Blackcomb in 1998. He also made numerous appearances in ski films, starting with “Soul Sessions” and “Epic Impressions” in 1993, and later collaborating with notable production companies like Matchstick Productions (MSP), Teton Gravity Research (TGR), and Warren Miller Entertainment (WME).
Morrison’s influence extended beyond competition and film. He was a vocal advocate for ski innovation, notably pushing for the development of rockered skis at K2. Although he parted ways with K2 in 2016 after 24 years, and other sponsors such as Full Tilt Ski boots, Oakley, and Hestra gloves also ended their affiliations, his impact on ski design and the freeskiing industry remains significant. His career is marked by multiple Powder Video Awards, including several Reader Poll wins and honors for Best Natural Air and Full Throttle, reflecting his consistent presence and influence in the sport.
